Way Down South

April 12, 2004

On the central coast. Still at the little mama’s house, still having a good time, so I haven’t had time to blog or respond to email…. And I haven’t had time to blog-surf, either, which is even worse. But I’ve been reading and knitting, so all’s well.

Had a lovely lunch with Mariko and Hedi today – we ate clam chowder at my favorite clam chowder place in the WHOLE world, and we sat on the Pismo pier in the sun. I took pictures on my camera/phone, but Mom’s house has no cell reception so I can’t email them to myself until I leave.

Sometimes, does it suddenly strike you how ridiculous technology is?

All right, off to be non-technical again. You do the same, okay?

Spending most of my evening reasonably non-tech. Does watching movies and knitting count? (I end up wandering over to the computer once in a while to see if there’s anything groovy in my mailbox.) I just watched 21 Grams. Not sure what’s up next. The only other Netflix I have are foreign and when I’m knitting in two colors I can’t read subtitles.

No way! Gracie is a clam chowder addict. Or as they said in MA “chowda”. Have a good time with little mama.

Pismo Beach and all da clams you can eat….sigh. That’s like my favorite Looney TUnes line in the whole wide world.
Emailing yourself pictures from your cell phone?
    Duuuuuuude.
Time for a trip to ITALY.
    A long, slooooow canal boat.

I saw the pics over at the eggplant, and I’m so jealous of you four, looking like you’re havin’ a blast together. What I wouldn’t give for actual weekdays off from work to enjoy this beautiful state and sunny weather and friends…
Oh yeah, my paycheck–that’s what I wouldn’t give. Drat. There’s always a catch.
