And no, you guessed right. I just can't hide it.
Romantic Times gave How to Knit a Love Song four stars, calling it "intricate and clever" with "down-home sense." (If only that were MY description. Wouldn't it be lovely to be described like that?)
Let me explain, my knittin' chickens. Reviews don't matter. That's what they say. And someday, I like to think they won't matter to me. People buy books because they're in the store, or because someone (a friend) tells them about them.
But I was worried about this review. This was the one I was waiting for. I feel like I can exhale now.
(At BART, in Beth's hat.)

Congratulations!
And speaking as a librarian, I will say that professional reviews matter a lot in helping us make purchasing decisions, so good reviews will help get your book into public libraries!

I have a surgery cap with knitting chickens on it. You know this, right?

So exciting! Tell me again how I go about getting a copy sooner rather than later?

You know what’s crazy? I have never met you and I think I have only commented here a handful of times, but I have been reading your blog for almost 6 years now and I am just so, so happy for you. Just the other day I caught myself thinking about it while doing other things. I don’t even think I’ve ever read a romance novel, but it is so cool to see someone have a dream and achieve it.
Janice in Camas says
Congratulations! Very cool news and, yeah, it would be great if it didn’t matter but . . . we’re human, we like to hear that we’re wonderful. Have a great time at the launch party! (We’re moving back to the Bay Area soon, but, probably not soon enough to make it to the party — rats!)
Amy says
Congrats! I am so very excited to read your book. Two more months!

Hi there! These are great comments for a first published novel! I am not a reader of romance novels but certainly will read your first one with interest and curiosity. Your smile under Beth’s hat is gracious. You have achieved some of your dreams and are certainly pleased, Rachael. Bravo! xx
