E-Book In The House!

September 1, 2011

I told you I'd tell you when it was available, and A Life In Stitches is now out digitally (as well as in paper)!

I'm dancing around, throwing confetti made of yarn! (IS there such a thing? There SHOULD be.)

Lifeinstitches

Available for:

Amazon Kindle

Barnes and Noble Nook

Apple iBooks

More yarn confetti, confetti for everyone! (Seriously, I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.)

Digit Update

This week, Digit has created a ruckus and has looked funny while doing it. He got some weird infection in his chin, and had to be anesthetized to fix it. He's now in a cone, but he's feeling much better and we're happy to report that he is just as terrifying to Clementine as ever.

Digitchin

See? I'm torn between thinking he looks like a lion or King Friday XIII.

And now, you know what? WE ARE GOING TO VEGAS. Three years ago, we were going to go — Lala has never been — and we had to cancel, but not this time! I made an appointment for a massage, and I'm going to spend time at the pool with a cold drink in one hand, a book in the other. I'm not a gambler, but I'll probably put some quarters in the machines, and La is interested in checking out the roulette, I believe.

The animals can't wait to get rid of us because their favorite petsitter is coming to stay — she's active in the Bay Area punk scene and we always tell her it's okay to have her friends over. When we come home, our house smells like delcious lentils and later, at live shows, total strangers come up to me and show me pictures they have on their cell phones of our dogs. It's an odd, friendly feeling.

So yep. The book is now officially all the way out, and we're on the road. Oh, heck yeah.

UPDATED TO ADD:

I had no idea How to Knit a Heart Back Home was coming out on audio today, too: Audible link. Now both the first two novels are available that way!

And this: If you've read any of my books? Will you consider giving them a review on Amazon/BN, etc? No matter if they're good or bad, reviews are a great thing and make books happy and in turn, make their authors VERY HAPPY. Thank you so much!

Have a super fun time in Vegas! My best friend is a social worker there, so if you have any problems with abandoned children she’s your gal….nevermind, I don’t think she’ll come in handy 馃槈

I’ve gotten my best hair cuts in Vegas. Those casino hair dressers really know their stuff!

Bloody hell! We just bought a kindle, so I rushed off to Amazon… “This book is not available to readers from Australia”. So i rushed back to iTunes: “This book is not available through iTunes Australia.”
Bloody hell! you publishers don’t like me! ::small sob::
I’m sure it will be available in time… I will have to be patient.

Can’t wait to download the latest book tomorrow (gotta get the paycheck first!).
If you get the chance, go see Jubilee! at Bally’s. It’s the last true showgirl show in Vegas. And my best friend just happens to be one of the dancers. Her name’s Lara, but her nickname is Lala! So that’s like a sign that you and Lala should go see it. 馃檪

Yay for Vegas trips! I can’t believe Lala’s never been. And of course congrats on the book! I like the Bellagio Art Gallery and any of the Cirque shows. Enjoy!

Rachael, you caused me some embarassment yesterday. I am reading ALIS (and LOVING it!!) and was absorbed in it in a doctor’s crowded waiting room yesterday when I got to page 91. I shouted “Oh my God!”, causing the entire group of people to turn and stare at me. Inside (fortunately, I was able to keep it inside) I was jumping up and down like a 5-year-old, shouting “It’s Janine, it’s my lovely Janine, it’s beautiful Janine in beautiful Rachael’s beautiful book!” The doctor found my blood pressure a bit elevated.
Love you…love the book. You and Lala have a great time in LV.

For anyone who hasn’t read A Life in Stitches: get it NOW. And if you’ve had any challenges in life lately: get it YESTERDAY. Amazing book, and Rachael you know how much it helped me this summer. I’ll definitely put up a blurb on Amazon!
Have a blast in Vegas and some good R&R time.

I came across your book, A Life in Stitches the other day. I picked it up and thought to myself, this looks familiar! I read the chapter about Digit and his adventures (gone missing) and got all teary in the book store. It brought back so many memories because I was with you on that journey, with Digit, virtually, but I was with you. Definitely moved me.

I just ordered “A Life in Stitches” – hope it arrives before vacation. Can’t wait to read it – Digit’s story always chokes me up. And just for you, I’ll figure out how to post a review (of the earier books). I might have to re-read them so they’re fresh in my mind (great excuse!).

If you haven’t checked into your hotel yet, try the “twenty dollar sandwich”. (google it). It really works and got us a sweet room fit for a rock star.

I just wanted to tell you that I discovered you in a magazine, while waiting for my husband. I was compelled to immediately read your blog and then buy “A Life in Stitches.” I just finished the book, and you describe my relationship to knitting perfectly! I did leave reviews at Amazon, and on Goodreads.com.

I finished the chapter about Digit last night and got all weepy. I remember reading about his disappearance and his amazing return and I believe I bought a few raffles for sweaters to help with his bills as well. As someone else who has a kitty soul mate, I can understand your heart break and elation at his return. Loving the book so far, especially reading about things that I remember from the blog!

I just wanted to tell you I purchased Life in Stitches to read on my Kindle on our way home from Minnesota. I alternately read and knit aaaaallll the way across Iowa(long damn state, I can tell you!) and have one more chapter to go. Loved it. I think, I loved it even more than the other two. If that is possible. Thank you for another wonderful story…..wonderful in how easy they are to read. Cannot wait until you have more. The story of your Starmore sweater made me laugh cause I could see my self doing the same thing….rippit, rippit tho maybe more than you did!!

I saw your book, “A Life in Stitches,” at B &N & came right home to look for the ebook on Kobo to read on my iPad. I haven’t had much luck feeling as if I’m quite ready for ebooks, but I was so gripped by your book in the first chapter, that I forgot about the media on which I was reading it! Bravo!
