Take five seconds and go sign the American Family Association’s poll on civil unions/gay marriages. They’re a Pro-Family organization and I just took this from their website:
Does AFA Hate Homosexuals?
Absolutely Not! The same Holy Bible that calls us to reject sin, calls us to love our neighbor. It is that love that motivates us to expose the misrepresentation of the radical homosexual agenda and stop its spread though our culture.
Hee! That actually makes me giggle. They’re going to present their poll to Congress, and wouldn’t it be amusing if it were weighted a mite more heavily on the pro-civil union/marriage side? Poll is HERE.
‘Course, if you’re anti-gay marriage, I still like ya. I just don’t wanna marry you.
Stonering says
Voted. Bleh. I even gave them a relatively valid name and email addy, mostly because I want to see if they spam me. People like that leave me feeling kind of dirty. Maybe I could oppose marriage between fundamentalists, or bigots, or close minded people. . . ah, too complicated.
Anne says
It’s a hoot, isn’t it? They’re behind in their owh poll.
I am SITLL not well!
But is was cheering to hear from you, honey.
Bananaflip says
Someone sent me the link to that site yesterday so I could cast my vote. I actually took a look at their website while I was there. It is so whack! I couldn’t get over some of their headlines.
Pioneer Melissa says
The words ‘radical homosexual agenda’ can actually sustain laughter in me throughout an entire day.
I vote for love. Always.
xxoo
Em says
I got the link to the poll yesterday, too, and took it upon myself to ensure the continuation of radical homosexual agenda.
(I just want to make sure Pioneer Melissa doesn’t run out of giggles.)
Calling themselves pro-family makes no sense to me whatsoever.
Ann says
One more married, rural, small town mom ready and willing to promote the decline of the traditional American family! ๐ (I love writing to my elected representatives, esp. the state reps…I am *so* not who they think their constituency is…ideologically speaking….) (Overuse of ellipses, I know, but at least that last set had the correct number for the end of the sentence.)
Rachael says
Wow, in one day, they’re behind in their own poll – I just checked and they’re 47% in favor of gay marriage, 44% against. Lovely, loving world. And the internet rocks.
Carrie says
Dude, they are still behind in their own poll! Are they still going to present the results to Congress if it disagrees with their “pro-family” agenda? So funny.
I agree with Pioneer Melissa…let’s vote for love. And you can marry me any day of the week, Rachael. ๐
Toni says
[12-27-03] They are even further behind in their own poll: 59+% for legalized marriage and 8+% for civil unions, leaving about 33% against. Gotta love it. ๐
